Quick refresher on why this matters so much. When someone searches "chiropractor near me," Google shows a map with three practices at the top before any normal results. That's the Map Pack, and it's where most new patients decide who to call. Getting into it is mostly about your Google Business Profile. So here's what to actually do, in the order I'd do it.
Get the basics exactly right
This sounds obvious and it's where half of practices lose. Your name, address, and phone number need to be correct and identical everywhere they appear online. Set "Chiropractor" as your primary category. Add accurate secondary categories for anything else you genuinely do. Fill in hours (including holiday hours), your service area, and every attribute Google offers. An incomplete profile ranks worse than a complete one, full stop, and completeness is entirely within your control.
List your services and conditions
Google lets you add services to your profile, and most chiropractors leave it blank. Fill it out: the adjustments and treatments you offer, and the conditions you treat (back pain, neck pain, sciatica, auto injuries, and so on). This helps Google understand exactly what you do and match you to the right searches, and it lines up with the condition pages on your website. The profile and the site's SEO reinforce each other when they tell the same story.
Add real photos, and keep adding them
Profiles with real, current photos get more clicks and calls than bare ones. Add the outside of the building (so people can find you), the inside of the office (so a nervous first-timer knows what to expect), your team, and the equipment. Real photos, not stock. Refresh them now and then. It's a small effort that measurably nudges people to pick you from the map.
Win on reviews, because this is the tiebreaker
Reviews are half of why someone picks you over the practice next to you, and they're a real Map Pack ranking factor. Count matters, rating matters, and recency matters, a wall of five-star reviews from three years ago is weaker than a steady trickle of recent ones. The practices that pull ahead are the ones getting reviews on a system, automatically, after every visit, instead of asking when they happen to remember. Respond to them too, good and bad, like a person. One rule: never buy reviews or offer anything for them, it violates Google's terms and gets profiles suspended. Here's the full review system.
Keep it alive with Posts and Q&A
Post to your profile roughly weekly, an update, an offer, a quick health tip. It shows up on your listing and signals to Google that the profile is maintained. Seed and answer the Questions & Answers section so patients see real answers instead of nothing (or worse, a wrong answer from a stranger). None of this is a giant ranking lever by itself, but together they tell Google the practice is real, current, and worth showing.
The short version
Complete every field. Right primary category. Services and conditions filled in. Real photos, kept fresh. A steady stream of recent reviews on a system, with responses. Weekly posts. Do that and you'll pull ahead of the many practices that set their profile up once and walked away. It's the highest-return, lowest-cost thing in chiropractic marketing, and it's the foundation the rest of your local SEO builds on.
